Personal Greetings from Pastor George

Tucson Mountain Baptist Church family and friends had the high honor and precious privilege of meeting face-to-face Sunday May 17 at 9:00 0’clock in the morning.  The recording was online by 12:00 P.M.HIGH NOON.  It is needful to meet together and to continue to offer online services for three reasons. FIRST, some are not physically able to come to services at 5757 West Ajo Highway; others are not comfortable going out into the public arena yet. SECOND, we want to be good stewards of the gospel by making it available to as many people as we can. THIRD, it is the collective heart’s desire of your staff, deacons and trustees, along with others who have expressed a concern that we get back together as soon as possible, that NO ONEabsolutely NO ONE, who feels compelled because of the Covid-19 virus to worship online feels pressured or unloved because you cannot or are not ready to return to public worship. You are a much-needed part of this body, whether you are ready to meet face-to-face or not quite there yet. All of us need each other. Pray! PRAY! Participate according to the dictates of your heart and the distinctives of your health.

As I wrote in an earlier letter, “Returning to public worship at this moment in time does not speak about the depth of faith or the lack of faith. Tucson Mountain Baptist Church family and friends desire to good citizens and gracious Christians in every situation and stage of life” (letter of May 8, 2020). The many questions that needed to be answered have been or are in the process of finding answers and solutions. By God’s grace, we were able to worship together on May 17, and through the summer months. We are continuing to meet at 9 am each Sunday.  Again the recording of the service is available each week online under sermons by 12 Noon.

We are meeting as one big family in the worship center. PLEASE bring your children to worship with you. We are currently holding a small preschool class at 9 am, and children's church for those thru 4th grade also at 9 am.  Masks are worn by the children's church students and social distancing is practiced.  All ministry activities are being carefully reevaluated monthly. Additional face-to-face gatherings will begin as quickly as feasible. THANK YOU! For your sweet spirit, your gracious, generous giving and your consistent commitment to Christ and His church.

Pastor Jay George passed away early in the morning on January 10th. We were blessed by having him as our Pastor for 26 years. Family is still under quarantine, so please DO NOT go by the house..  Please NO FLOWERS-allergies.  Thank you all for your prayers for the family and our church. We will miss him greatly.  Tentative plans are to have a memorial service later in the spring.

ONLINE Services only for the month of January

In the interest of safety for all we have chosen to close our ONSITE services until the first week of February.  We will
post sermons online for Sunday and Wednesday each week. Thank you for your understanding.
